First Bite Boulder: Top Restaurants Week

11/02/2018 | by Kate Young | Happening in Boulder

The rumors are true… Boulder, CO is one of the “foodiest” destinations in the country, but please don’t tell your friends. We are the best kept semi-secret. Not Napa, Brooklyn, SF, nor are we windy. We are Boulder.

Have you heard of this Rocky Mountain city? Maybe as the happiest place to live? Or, cough, cough, those green herbs that are legal? Anyways, we’ve come a long way since the countries first natural grocery store in the 70’s – now having one of the busiest Whole Foods in the nation and seaweed snacks for sale at gas stations.

In the mood for cruto, waygo, saffron, matsutake mushrooms, densuke watermelon or bluefin tuna?

Well come visit this remarkable town during First Bites 11/9-11/17 and you’ll have the opportunity to try some of the best dishes in the country during your Prix Fixe 3-course meal.

Interesting in Beef Shashlik with herbs, cucumber yoghurt and flatbread?

Then take in the sights of hand-carved and hand-painted ceiling, tables, stools, columns, and exterior ceramic panels (gifted by Tajikistan) at the one and only Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse.

Or perhaps Pan Seared Sea Scallops with pear walnut salad, fried garlic chips and sprout puree is more your cup of tea?

Then savor al fresco dinner at Chataqua Dining Hall while taking in the spectacular up close and personal view of the iconic Flatiron Mountains.

Whether it’s Niman Ranch Braised Pork, Voodoo Catfish, or Butternut Squash Cheesecake that floats your boat you’ll find many somethings to love at one of the 45+ restaurants participating in this yearly event. Check some of our properties close by!
